Hi.

Welcome to malshag.org, the chronicles of our growing family consisting of several humans, six dogs, two cats, some reptiles and a gay rhino.

L is now 11 weeks old as of yesterday. He is making a ton of noises, I like to say that he’s already talking, just in incomplete words. He laughs and smiles, and recognizes me when I come home from work.

We’re reading him basic books, because why not? Apparently kids at this age can see a few colors. We have a black/white/red book filled with fish and cow pictures, and he focuses on them intently. It’s fascinating to watch. My mother read books to me at a young age, and I was reading before kindergarten age. So who knows?

It’s been great to watch new things happen on a daily basis. We’re generally around to witness everything. One day he’ll just do something for the first time, that he didn’t do the day before. Yesterday he started focusing on the dangling things on his mobile and batting them around with his hand.

He’s gained a good amount of weight, and is starting to look like a real little person. Looking back at older photos, I’m amazed at how tiny he was.
